Using close-up shots and intimate angles, the film captivates from the very beginning.

Environmentally savvy university professor, Ryan Kilgore, is hesitant to enter his grandmother's memorial service out of fear of the possibility of encountering his estranged father. The film follows Dr. Kilgore's personal and professional struggles as he attempts to break free of the chains he believes bind him to his father. It is a dramatic inner journey illustrated with mesmerizing cinematography and compelling plot sequence.

Through a series of synchronistic events Dr. Kilgore is prompted to search for his father. The people and places he encounters along the way lend a distinctly human perspective, and provide a beautiful framework for his ultimate discovery- to live according to our highest calling, we must look upon ourselves, our planet and one another with love and compassion. very inspiring

I enjoyed this video and the taped interview with Wayne Dyer. It was amazing to watch a person who was so consumed with anger choose forgiveness and watch the healing and transformation. It has good lessons there for everyone. To see the person Wayne has become today, it was so enlightening to know that a person can change that dramatically when they choose to learn lessons from their hurts rather than harbor unforgiveness. Wayne, thanks for sharing a part of your life story with your fans.

Loved it. I have a similar situation and It was great to seeDr Dyer's version of how he handled it. I loved his interview at the end of the movie. Very compassionate. I have serveral of his books and movies but I liked this the best.....

About the Author
Louise Crawford is Associate Dean, Research and Senior Lecturer of Accounting at the School of Business, University of Dundee. After working as a post-doctoral research scientist at St Andrews University, Louise trained with KPMG to become a Chartered Accountant with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, practicing predominantly in corporate audit. Iain Gray acquired extensive practical auditing experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Germany and Italy. He was for many years Principal Lecturer and Head of Auditing at Sheffield Hallam University and is formerly Chair of the Auditing Special Interest Group of the British Accounting and Finance Association. Stuart Manson is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. He is presently a Professor of Accounting in Essex Business School at the University of Essex where he lectures on auditing and financial reporting. He has written a number of articles in academic journals and co-authored a number of research monographs in the areas of auditing and financial reporting.

The pursuit of your highest truth.

In what I call his trilogy of good books with this one as it's finally, Richard Bach espouses the idea that you create your own reality, “state your limitations and sure enough they are yours,” for example. In Jonathan Seagull, Jonathan was a seagull that refused to be defined by the ‘reality’ his grey seagull friends insisted upon him. He would defy those norms by transcending to a higher reality. In Bach’s next book Illusion, he carries that thought into practice as the main character is ‘the reluctant messiah’. Essentially the book espoused the idea that only you can form the life you are experiencing. You can accept the reality placed upon you by the circumstance life has placed upon you. Or you can take responsibility without seeking a messiah to save you. I know this sounds like anti Christianity, to many who needed to escape from the church in that era. But actually all of this comes to a crystallized message consistent with Christ’s message in The Bride across Forever, which his actually a true story, his autobiography . This book is a love story. Life together starts with, is, and ends with love.

In Bach’s true to life story he examines the ideas of soul-mate and life-mate. Is there a one-to-one relationship? I look with envy to those who were lucky enough to go through one life with one life-mate. Ever wonder if through all that hard work, are you with your soul-mate? Richard Bach and Leslie Parish come together from life experiences that include divorce. So, maybe not. Both were happy being single in their post divorce lives, knowing that when that life-mate to soul-mate appears they would do the right thing.

Focusing on Bach and his inner thoughts, his logic being selfish, began with the idea that in life there is no perfect ‘soul-mate’ woman, and a soul-mate is an amalgamation of many women from past lives. Thus he had many women in his life only to come to the reality that they were superficial relationships, lacking the willingness to experience the ‘give-and-take” lessons of life. Leslie’s character in the book did not explore the pursuit of love but of causes. Her career and causes filled her life.

When Richard met Leslie, it was on an elevator. It was a coincidental moment where there was an energy, with no realized rationality. Later the rose would bloom. Through much conversation between the two Richard came to a ‘new reality’. Is she the one? Sex crept into the story which threw a new dynamic. Will the tradition of monogamy, imply ownership of each other’s daily lives? I call this the superficial special love that is overwhelmingly oppressive, obsessive, and ultimately selfish; fraught with all the misery that jealousy brings to the psyches and tares at the soul. They work their way through this by facing extreme challenges brought on to them by those who surrounded Richard. Together they each learned to bend as the rose does to the sun, toward each other. Here is where Richard found love true love, a soulmate. He actually found truth and what real love as opposed to special love conceived in selfishness, is.

A timeless book......

This book was not written with a romance novel attitude. I know as many men who have read Bach as women since it's written from a man's perspective without "flowy" words. This book is my favorite and I'm so happy to have it in hard copy. It is studied in many schools.

By the way, Richard Bach is the grandson of the composer....fun trivia.

Great for Buffalo Bill era

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Must warn you I am a born and raised Nebraskan, have grown up around Buffalo Bill stories and the North Platte area. The author did a marvelous job of describing the area this story took place. Great heart warming story.

Current research spans both of the School’s programmes and includes work with colleagues in Dundee and Bristol on developing an intervention for weight loss part partum and understanding the reasons for suboptimal uptake of folic acid. A personal programme of work is concerned with the sociology of recovery and involves research into young adult cancer patients’ concerns about future fertility (with colleagues from Aberdeen), reintegration after stroke, and the long-term outcomes for women who have experienced post partum psychosis (with colleagues at St.Andrews).

Her research career has covered a wide variety of topics located at the intersection of the clinical and the social - e.g. HIV/AIDS; reproductive health and fertility; psychosocial health; and obesity. Rose’s theoretical interests centre around the links between identity and agency, and implications for health promotion and clinical practice. Rose has a particular interest in rigour in qualitative research and has published widely on this topic in a range of academic journals. Reflecting her conviction that qualitative research is a craft skill, Rose has developed an innovative series of ‘hands-on’ qualitative methods workshops. She has been invited to present these workshops throughout the UK, in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, France, the US and Canada. She co-edited Developing Focus Group Research: Politics, Theory and Practice (Sage, 1999). Her most recent books - Introducing Qualitative Research: A Student Guide to the Craft of Doing Qualitative Research (Sage, 2014) and Doing Focus Groups (Sage, 2008) - bring together and share the expertise she has developed through running workshops for a variety of audiences over the past 15 years.

I bought this book for my husband for Father's Day and he really enjoyed it. He's a big Civil War person he also really enjoys history in general. He really liked the book and had absolutely no problems with it. I recommend this book to anybody who likes history or even just the Civil War.

A Soldier's View of the Civil War

Ambrose Bierce served during the American Civil War, serving as a cartographer and officer for the Union. In these 16 compelling tales, Bierce conveys the sights and sounds from a soldier's perspective of the war, ranging from being in the heart of battle in "What I Saw of Shiloh" to a young boy lost in the woods in "Chickamauga" to tales of the supernatural and of odd events, including "One of the Missing" -- a chilling tale of a soldier in an abandoned house -- and his famous "An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge." Bierce's no-nonsense style puts the reader in the heart of the action, making the reader take an active part in the events. A great collection of stories from one of America's best writers.
