Dr. Na'im Akbar is a Clinical Psychologist in the Department of Psychology at Forida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. He has been described by Essence magazine as "one of the world's preeminent African-American pychologists and a pioneer in the development of African-centered approach to modern psychology."

Affirmation of personal conclusions

This book is good reading for those who seek to better understand the dynamics of the mind. It explores one's development from the perspectives of self, family, children and community. Complex relationships are are discussed in basic terms that are easy to follow and embrace. It is a short yet powerful book - filled with inspiration to seek greater knowledge.
